Peewee

The Mini-Mite program is designed for families who want to give organized hockey a try. Therefore, it is a pretty low-key and low-cost. We focus on fun while learning how to skate and play hockey. Players are ages 4 to 6. The schedule, such as it is, is meant to be low impact and flexible.

Getting Oriented to Hockey

All players on the ice are expected to have all the necessary hockey equipment pictured here.  This can be done inexpensively. First, check with Langford Park Rec center. They have a lot of donated equipment available for use. If you would like to purchase equipment, start with used. Go to Play it again Sports.

Starting August 1 2024, players competing in youth, girls, high school or junior hockey within USA Hockey are required to wear neck laceration protectors (NLPs) for all games and practices.

Mouth guards and jock/Jill straps are are optional for Mini-mites.
